View allThe rat was the first to make it across the finishing line. It seems unlikely that such a small animal could win such a strenuous race, but the rat used its brain instead of its feet. It took a ride on buffalo’s back and jumped off just before they crossed the finishing line.
The buffalo came in second and then the mighty tiger, followed by the rabbit, the dragon, the snake, the horse, the sheep, the monkey and the rooster. The dog arrived eleventh, because he decided to take a bath before crossing the finishing line. Finally the pig arrived, it enjoyed the whole race and rested half time.
The mythology of the Chinese Zodiac was developed during the Han-Dynasty approximately 2000 years ago. Still many people in East and South East Asia take it as orientation for their life.
Chinese New Year is starting with the first ‘New Moon’ of the New Year; Chinese New Year will be celebrated each year between January 20th and February 21st.
According to his birthday each person will be given one special sign of the Chinese Zodiac and one of the five elements earth (Tu), metal (Jin), water (Shui), wood (Mu) and fire (Huo). You have 60 different combinations which are determining character, talents, preferences and more. The whole circle of these combinations starts again every 60 years.
The whole circle of the Chinese Zodiac will soon be presented in this gallery. To learn more about the signs of the Chinese Zodiac please visit my website 'artonricepaper' or read the article in my profile/blog.
