Chaos

“Chaos is what we've lost touch with. This is why it is given a bad name. It is feared by the dominant archetype of our world, which is Ego, which clenches because its existence is defined in terms of control.”

Control. The well-being of the modern world. It gives the feeling of safety in the present, and an illusion of predictability for the future. Proven scenarios are as comforting as the walls of a cozy home.
Even observing nature and natural phenomena, a person seeks order, patterns to feel stability in the world around him. And in the end, the modern mind evaluates all objects and events as nothing more than the sum of its constituent parts, explaining everything with a formula. And if a fateful life event happens, sometimes not everyone can cope with it and accept it.
With my works, I remind that we are all created by this beautiful chaos, and each of us has instincts and intuition that guide us. True beauty, an ideal, can only be created when you trust your most basic feelings when you let go of control and just surrender to the flow.
Observing the events of my own life and how it affects me, I began to study chaos theory. The topic impressed me, found a response in my soul and found its practical implementation. Arriving at the studio, I started the planned work on the usual shape - the dome. At first, the work went on as usual, but after reaching the stage of sculpting the upper part of the dome, instead of the planned flat slot, I made a round hole. Then another, and another. I plunged into the process of creation, succumbing to the creative flow - what my hands created was the realization of an exciting image from my subconscious - the image of Сhaos. Letting go of control while creating a new object, I accepted the chaos, felt it, and captured it.
My work Chaos is a sculpture for flowers that can have many images - from calm and minimalistic to strange and expressive. In my previous works, I began my research into the shape of a constructor; in the Chaos object, a constructor is a leitmotif. This work calls for action: play, change the components in places, decorate the flower placed in it, or remove them at all. Calls for interaction, for the creation of a silhouette from elements that are unlike each other. The diversity of the Chaos object symbolizes the flow of life, asymmetrical and disorderly. The symmetrical base is enlivened by dissimilar elements-branches, demonstrating the unpredictability of the development of events. There is no wrong choice, no stumbling on the way when we comprehend chaos. Let go of control, touch, create, contemplate and comfort and peace will come.

My name is Evgeniia Kazarezova and I’m a ceramic designer. Started my professional career as an architect and later as an interior designer, I continue to work with space now by placing my objects in it. Mostly I work with clay as with one of the ancient and natural material human worked with. Perception of the way material got through the thousands of years in different cultures all around the globe gives me a dose of verve. Using traditional craftsmanship methods, I go for contemporary design objects that reflect my vision and feeling of the modern world's actualities.I'm a child of post-Soviet Russia. So I appreciate soviet postmodernist and brutalist architecture. I observe relationships of modern human and flora on the city site, making connections between different phenomenons. Through the natural material and oldest craft, I explore the reality of digitalization and look at it from different angles, I translate my vision through my objects. The combination of traditional techniques and modern technologies allows me to achieve unobvious results during the design process.I associate myself with an aesthetic of pure material textured impressive forms, making my objects massive, tactile, and sensory. My works may be characterized by the purity of form, naturalness, and minimalism in colours. The design method can be described as a practice-led exploration of harmony between form, texture, and natural colour of the material to create sculptural and functional objects hand-made and fired in my studio in Bratislava.
