Biography
Born in former Czechoslovakia, spend years living in Germany(in and around Munich),now based and living in Ireland (Connemara). Helga is a self taught artist.She started making her One-of-a-kind Character Art Dolls about 18 years ago and had many exhibitions all over Ireland since. Dolls were sold worldwide. The most popular Characters are her WITCHES,WIZARDS,FAIRIES and Dolls in ethnic costumes.
In the last 2 years, Helga started experimenting in CREATIVE HAND EMBROIDERY.As the result,she had a successfull exhibition in the "Town Hall Theatre Galway", in september/october 2007.
Her embroidery design is based on Tibetan Mandalas, Magic Symbols,Seahorses and Turtles.Using various coloured and textured yarns and ribbons,beads,sequins,shells,applique work on layers of satin and organza. Finished piece is mounted and framed.

HELGA PIKAL
