Acevedo no se repite nunca. Es un exiliado de su propia conciencia, un fugitivo de sí mismo. Las figuras toscas de los primeros tiempos son ahora mujeres pintadas con trazos más exquisitos, en tanto los árboles difuminados de su periodo intermedio se han trocado pequeños universos de donde emergen casas, iglesias, ventanas, seres amorfos y ojos escudriñadores y ventanas. Por momentos, reaparecen canes y pájaros, aunque al servicio de conceptos más acordes con el surrealismo que practica.
