This painting shows my thoughts, through my paintings over the years in one scene.
It starts with a Robin singing, with the hope of seasons to come.
In the backdrop I have started to represent time with a winters day which then forms into a sunset and finally with a moonlit night sky.
Then I have painted An Oak tree representing all 4 seasons through the new growth of leaves which changes colour and thickens in summer, then changes colour again and eventually falls to the ground.
Along the way, right through the scene I have painted a man-made wall which is crumbling into a wasteland in the nighttime. This represents man’s intervention and the effect it is having on our atmosphere.
Around this tree I have from left to right, painted in snow, then snowdrops and grass forming, then Bluebells, thick healthy growth around the tree and then autumn leaves falling, finally, there is a flood and trees dying.
Along the sky in this painting, I have painted in 4 Geese heading towards the flood then I have painted in an owl, in the moonlight, which is a symbol of wise after the event.
At the end of this scene is a starry night sky and in the forefront is Orion the Hunter. The Aztecs called the stars of Orion's Belt and Orion's Sword the Fire Drill. When this constellation rose in the sky it signaled the beginning of a New Fire ceremony, a ritual Aztecs performed to postpone the end of the world.
