Painted on silk using acrylic and black Gutta.

Known as Mother Theresa of Calcutta, she was an Albanian nun from Calcutta India who Ministered to the sick and dying in the streets of Calcutta. She was a member of the Sisters of Loretto where she taught for many years.
She left and began her own missionaries of charity and became known throughout the world for her many homes in all the large cities of the world where she and her sisters ministered to the poor and to the downtrodden.
She brought Christ to millions and millions of people and someday she may well be a saint of the church.

Quote:

Prayer in action is love, love in action is service.

If you judge people, you have no time to love them.

Do small things, with great love.

Peace begins with a smile.

"I'm a little pencil in the hand of a writing God, who is sending a love letter to the world."
- Mother Theresa

After several years as a freelance designer, Gloria yearned for a more organic connection to the arts. Her first workshop with master pastelist Ellie Bender was the catalyst that launched her fine art career. Gloria since explored oil painting and she is currently painting primarily on silk with acrylic mediums. Many of the techniques Gloria offers in her silk painting workshops are integrated into many of her fine art paintings as well as her hand painted scarves. Gloria enjoys experimenting and keeping her options open when it comes to mediums and this passion has also blossomed into her own unique line of jewelry. One-of-a-kind pieces featuring original hand sculpted beads, focals and findings.

A degree in Graphic Design from Pratt Phoenix/Institute, New York, N.Y., along with Gloria's fine art background have given her the capability to attain success in many facets of art & design. Consequently this has enabled Gloria to share her love of art with many others. Offering classes, workshops and weekly programs at the Arts Center Killingworth, Chester Village West retirement Community, Essex Meadows Lifecare Retirement Community, Clinton Parks & Recreation and private lessons and workshops on request.
