Galina Bayda is an artist and decorator. She took her first steps into the world of art at an art school in her native Mariupol. Having received her education at the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, she worked as a manager in the construction industry, then as an interior designer. Art returned to her life in 2019, and painting became the main activity that radically changed not only her profession but also her attitude. The first works were landscapes, and the artist still paints nature, because these works are about her values. Galina tries to create an atmosphere, a sense of place. She looks for a subject directly on the canvas, starting from color combinations as a source of inspiration. She studied independently, and then graduated from the School of Contemporary Art in Kyiv.
As long as the war continues, Galina stays in Ukraine. For the first months, she had no power to paint. With a stream of traumatic events and complete uncertainty, it was necessary to somehow adapt to this new reality. The world became contrasting, everything appeared - good and bad, became bright and voluminous. Many ideas from the past have collapsed. Abstract works have become a reflection of thoughts that arise against the background of what is happening. This is a feeling of the moment, of yourself in this moment, a visualization of the inner space. They help the artist cope with anxiety by focusing on creativity.
