Depuis un certain nombre d'années mon travail me mène vers la notion de disparition, transparence, surgissement. En couches blanches successives le tableau originel est effacé et surgit une autre qui « n'est pas tout à fait une autre ni tout à fait la même »
Partant d'une œuvre peinte en couleur de façon traditionnelle je la recouvre progressivement de blanc jusqu'à ce qu'il en reste ne soit plus que le souvenir ou un rappel.
Le blanc étant classiquement la couleur sur laquelle le dessinateur ou le peintre commence à poser les premiers traits il peut aussi être la couleur qui efface les couleurs existantes sur la toile.
Le blanc est une couleur. Elle est censée remplacer la lumière. Elle est aussi un éteignoir. Ou un éclairage jeté sur les débris du tableau. Le lieu commun sur la force du noir , occulte la dureté du blanc. La douceur qui lui est attribuée est trompeuse. Impitoyablement il recouvre l’image.
