François Vert is a contemporary French artist. François is an active member of the Société Artistique du Cantal and the artists’ collective Above the Volcano, where he collaborates with fellow creatives to push the boundaries of artistic expression.
In addition to his exhibitions, François also shares his passion for art through educational initiatives. He co-hosts an introductory workshop on abstract art within the Cantal artistic society, providing aspiring artists with the tools and inspiration to explore their creativity.
François's artistic practice is characterized by a dynamic interplay between abstraction and expressionism. Central to his work is the exploration of light, which serves as a focal point in his compositions. Through meticulous attention to light and shadow, François seeks to imbue his creations with depth and dimensionality, inviting viewers into immersive visual experiences.
During the period of confinement, François embarked on a deeply personal artistic journey, creating a series of 25 linocuts that explored themes of confinement, illness, and caregiving. This poignant series served as a reflection of the challenging times, offering both solace and introspection to those who viewed it.
Building upon the success of his linocut series, François continued to innovate, producing a new body of work for his exhibition titled 'Trajectoires'. This series, comprised of pieces such as "Chaos," "Cracks," and "Reconstruction," delved into themes of transformation and resilience, capturing the complexities of the human experience.
