Francesco Lopes, artist photographer born in 1982 in Syracuse, a former Greek colony, currently lives and works in Austria. Growing up in this historic city, he was always keenly aware of the extent of the human past and the importance of the traces left by previous generations. Passionate about photography, he explores an inner world through his images, bringing to light deep emotions and hidden atmospheres. His artistic approach revolves around the transformation of the visible into broader and more varied sensations, weaving links between vision and the other senses, such as hearing and smell.

Fascinated by the enigma of history and symbols, Francesco Lopes explores the frontiers of consciousness and the archetype, revealing a fascination with the rituals and mysteries of the past. His photographic creations are like snapshots capturing fleeting dreams, floating visions that escape our immediate comprehension. Faces, objects and scenes from everyday life are transformed into abstract compositions, partly graspable but also partly vanished, evoking a certain melancholy.

The artist, nourished by his environment and his family heritage, testifies to a constant search for meaning and emotion in his work. As a self-taught photographer, he explored a variety of styles to achieve his own artistic identity, refining his style over the years. His works reflect a deep quest to understand and communicate the essence of life, while evoking the beauty and complexity of the world around him.

Francesco Lopes has also developed a meticulous approach to post-production, transforming each image into a unique and immersive work of art. He has thus succeeded in combining his love for photography with his reflection on human existence and his questions about the past and the future. Through his work, he offers a poetic connection between past, present and the unknown, leaving a lasting emotional imprint on those who encounter his striking images.
