Francesco Capello was born on 11 February 1944 in Chivasso (To).

After his artistic high school diploma, he attended the Albertina Academy of Fine Arts in Turin, where he graduated and received the prize reserved for the best students.
 From 1970 to 1973 he was a teacher of "Pictorial Disciplines" at the Arturo Martini Art School of Savona and, until 1994, at the Primo Liceo Artistico of Turin.

He has always been interested in image painting, after various explorations in the figurative field, in the early seventies he radicalized the realistic technique making the his discourse with subjects that highlight the world linked to contemporary society.

In this decade he has deepened his research unconsciously very close to American hyperrealism, author of a story composed of fragments of a reality felt as a document and history and testimony of living, goes well beyond American hyperrealism and photographic definitions, as in the works of the Piedmontese artist memories and visions are leavened by a poetic memory that finds the right balance of interiority in an often masterly painting and wonder.
