Je me considère en premier chef comme un coloriste, qui travaille en peinture et en volume.   

D’une part, je travaille sur des peintures de « champs colorés » de grands formats, ainsi que sur des « objets singuliers » déclinés à partir de jeux de grammaire des couleurs ; et d’autre part j’élabore des « constructions et structures en 3D » (terme plus juste que sculpture) où je privilégie le bois, ainsi que des « installations » dans l’espace public, dans les rues, avec divers matériaux : rubans de taffetas, calques ou gélatines de couleurs et dispositifs divers de lumière.

Très soucieux du regardeur et du sens des choses, mon souci est de proposer au regard une réelle expérience de « ces couleurs comme jeux de langages ».

Les trois couleurs : bleu, rouge et jaune, sont les principales que j'utilise depuis les années 2000.

Ces couleurs sont déclinées selon 2 attitudes :

- d'une part d'un point de vue physicaliste, proposant des séries de variations et formes de "modulations chromatiques"

- d'autre part, un point de vue plus "métaphysique" qui repose sur une pratique de la peinture de champs colorés d'où émane une lumière intérieure et une énergie, proposant au regard une expérience transcendantale bien plus contemplative.

BIOGRAPHIE

Pascal Fancony vit à Collias près d'Uzès (30). Il est ou a été :

-Peintre, plasticien de l’espace et de la couleur -Conférencier et Théoricien de l’art du XXème siècle -Professeur émérite dans les Écoles d’Art et d’Architecture (Perpignan, Avignon, Aix-en-Provence, Marseille, Nîmes , et chargé de cours à l’école des Mines d’Alès) 

-Architecte-paysagiste et Urbaniste de 1980 à 1995 -Représenté à Paris par la Galerie Amélie-Maison d’arts -Exposé au Salon des Réalités Nouvelles à Paris depuis 2010 

-Fondateur et Président de l’association A.A.T. Arts, Architecture et Territoire en Uzège.
