Hajek ist ein zeitgenössischer Maler, der, ausgehende von naturalistischen Naturdarstellungen, seinen Malstil zu einem poetisch-expressiven weiterentwickelt hat.
Nach künstlerischen Studien an den Hochschulen Esslingen und Ludwigsburg studierte Hajek am Institut für Sozialwissenschaften an der Universität Tübingen. Durch zahlreiche Workshops und Seminare unter anderem bei H.G. Schütz, avancierte er selbst als Fortbildner für angehende Künstlerinnen und Künstler. Seine Werke werden ausgestellt und stehen in privaten Sammlungen.
Hajek entwickelte eine Bildsprache, die das Verdeckende, Gewohnte, Erstarrte in spielerische Formen überführt, die die Flüchtigkeit der durch Stimmungen ausgelösten Eindrücke, Gedanken und Assoziationen aufnimmt und festhält.
Er arbeitet mit dem bewussten Zufall, dem eine intensive Planungsphase vorausgeht. Dabei ist für den Künstler während des Arbeitsprozesses bedeutsam, auf die kreativen, sich ereignenden Augenblicke zu achten, um sie in seinem Schaffen fruchtbar werden zu lassen.
