Yves Willaert, born in Brussels, lives and works in Paris and Ardèche. He has traveled and worked in Africa for a long time on development projects. Both the rural and urban economy made him discover lives in other space-times, different from those to which he was accustomed. The return to Europe and life in Rome brought back long-buried sensations. The drawing, from inner resonance, reveals a personal universe forgotten, ignored and to be constructed. Pastel and charcoal, which for him are means of artistic expression in their own right, open the way to infinite associations that he loves to explore. Working closely with the materials, developing, constructing, creating, from these elements are the leitmotifs of his research.
