Biography
William Bernard. Born in Lyon (France) on November 14, 1992.
Following a very disturbed youth, I had to stop my 3rd year of college to enter the workplace when I was 16 years old.
I started working in handling, then in sales and finally in luxury ready-to-wear in Paris. Two different universes which, due to their duality, were an intense source of inspiration for me.
Having done no artistic studies, I am completely self-taught. This allowed me to explore art in my own way by drawing inspiration from the greatest and their techniques.
I started to draw fully around the age of 10 and I started with painting in September 2018.
My inspirations generally come from my passive, states melancholy and self destructive human beings, mental disorders, occultism and religion.
My artistic references are Roberto Ferri, William Bouguereau, Leonardo da Vinci, Victoria Frances, Goya, Caravaggio.
Like most of them I first started with traditional black and white drawing to get to my favorite medium, oil painting.

Abusos Melankholia // Les Abîmes de la mélancolie.

Chère famille, chers amis, chers tous,
C’est sous ce nom que j’ai choisi de baptiser ma première exposition de technique mixte - peinture à l’huile et dessins.
Elle regroupe la majeure partie de mes dernières œuvres, mêlant onirisme, passions et douleur, pivot central de mes inspirations.
Clin d’œil à mes influences mythologiques,
J’ai choisi en lieu et place de cet événement, le Médusa, bar n’ayant de figeant que le nom.
Dans l’attente de vous retrouver mercredi pour la Première, sourire aux lèvres et verre à la main, je vous souhaite à chacun.e une excellente semaine.
