Titre "Space Stone, Paper, Scissors: Robot Mars Spaghetti"

Title "Space Stone, Paper, Scissors: Robot Mars Spaghetti"

This follows on from previous work "Is there Life on Mars?", and “Spray Space Shuttle: Tim & Jerry”, "Robot Mars Spaghetti" which was inspired for the Space Day, on Friday 6th May, and later the World Space Week, from 4th to 10th October, 2016, to raise awareness of Space related issues.

In this version, the tittle "Space Stone, Paper, Scissors" refers to the game "Paper, Scissor, Stone" in which two players would make hand shapes to try and win against each other. The Space orbit represents "Stone" element, landing like a Stone, Paper element represented by "Mars Planets" Chocolate Bar Wrapper, and finally "Scissors" by the dotted Fragile Line, suggesting the viewer to Cut the Artwork along the Dotted Lines, as it was a Failed Mission and to Start again!

The Artist has been following some of the events of Space events, and missions to Mars, named “ExoMars” programme by the European Space Agency (ESA), which is as series of missions to understand Life on Mars.

The latest ExoMars mission was to Land an obiter named “Schiaparelli” (which he can’t pronounce, so the Artist has altered that to “Spaghetti” in the work, easier to say), due to have landed on 19th October 2016. The “Spaghetti” obiter was to collect data (to see if early life forms exists, such as bacteria) on the surface of Mars, however, it failed to land, maybe due to malfunction in the Mars atmosphere, boosters may have failed and flip over before crash landing, speculation.

The Artist is also interested in “Robot Wars” (1998-2004 & 2016-present, TV Programme in UK) about remote controlled Robots fighting against each other. Instead of “Robot Wars” Artist altered this to “Robot Mars” inverted letter “W” to “M”. If “Spaghetti” was made of tougher stuff, like “Robot Mars”, it would have been able to flip over, to protect it's delicate top, and maybe withstand it's impact or the Aliens!

The booster were on the bottom of "Spaghetti" but the Artist has flipped this over, to the Spray Nozzle, and rotated the Spray Can upside-down, to suggest crash Landing.

The first image is the correct orientation, the second image reversed for clarity.
