Nothing is absolute in art and especially in painting. Always in front of a prepared canvas The same questions come up: what am I doing? And who am I to fill a void with gestures that have become rituals? When one is African, there will be a blur to hide our true identity, attacked from all sides by a Western culture, the basis of our education. And in this whirlwind all artist whatever its field is in an obligation to make the share of the things to avoid the sacrilege. I do not leave for all that in a denial of what is done as regards plastic art but I draw rather a territory in the art with for materials, my first identity which remains black and African first and then our immense cultural heritage and vestige of the beginning of humanity. After 25 years of artistic creation I dare not be a pretentious giver of lessons in my field but, I think I have seen enough to speak about it with the greatest freedom that a man can enjoy in our time swirled by a technology without brakes . When I say don't do abstract art, don't do figurative art, or impressionism, or surrealism, or cubism, it's because I don't do it, and you go crazy claiming things that we don't do and that are not part of your story. I am descended like all black Africans from the great migration of the Bantu peoples, and my painting is a cultural appropriation based on a symbolism and a geometric ritual that I call: MYSTICISM.(the end)
