“Sukunda” a traditional oil lamp that is an essential part of our Newari culture. In every religious ceremony to the rituals of birth and death “Sukunda” plays an important role. This is a very important piece from my late grandma’s puja room; which brings fond memories of her. She used it on every birthday of mine and other special occasions and ceremonies! It has so much of love and memories for which has inspired and persuaded me. I fear the darkness of the concrete modern world gulping down these important jewels of my heritage and making it disappear and forgotten forever!
