Now we have only these shocking gargoyles in Brick Lane and a towering sculpture by Anish Kapur (have I spelt that right? Who knows? Who cares?) which looks like a Terminator disembowelled by a chainsaw. This we are supposed to conceive as London's answer to the Eiffel Tower. Well, well.
