Sofia was born in 1977, Spain. As a child, growing up she discovered her love and passion for art. She spent 15 years in Madrid with her family before migrating to London. Sofia attended London Metropolitan University obtaining a Bsc (Hons) in Applied Psychology. Sofia’s background as a psychology graduate adds an edge to her paintings allowing her to pursue her interest for cognitive behaviour and perception two topics that fascinate her.

Sofia has a flair and natural ability to transfer her feelings thoughts and emotions to a simple visual format. Her style is unique and innovative. She plays with the art of not knowing the outcome daring to provoke a result from the unexpected providing a meaningful experience for the viewer.

Her complex methodology to the eye grows out of her life’s memoirs; her abstract paintings emerge from the unconscious. It is soothing therapy for Sofia and her viewers.

“Best attribute for abstract paintings is the ability to create a deep conversation between strangers”

When considering which artist inspire her, Sofia says she fears mind pollution, she prefers to keep her mind clear of techniques and attitudes, her technique and only technique is her individualistic perception of life. “Bad abstraction is contrived and forced and can very easily become clichéd.”

Sofia has no competitor in her field. She is the one and only Sofia. No one can express feelings like she does.

In addition, Sofia has written “The Expression of ImogensJazz” which includes her poetry and thoughts.

Currently Sofia has exhibitions across the UK and her paintings can also be seen and purchased at:
