Biography of Shanlin Shu
I have been dedicated to oil painting for many years, as a way to understand innate meanings of all things in the world, to deliver their feelings and my own spirits. I was graduated from Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts looking to the guidance of Jing Kewen, Liu Wensi, Wang Shengli, etc. Among them, I was most influenced by Prof. Zhang Huimin impression techniques, my paintings are more of contemporary style, though, quite unconventional. That is, my paintings go directly to truth rather than play tricks. I insist doing sketch creation every day, and I always think that the painter need to feel the nature face the face, otherwise the canvas will not have vitality.
