Slumdog Millionaire is a 2008 British film directed by Danny Boyle, written by Simon Beaufoy, and co-directed in India by Loveleen Tandan. ] It is an adaptation of the Booker Prize-winning and Commonwealth Writers' Prize-nominated novel Q & A (2005) by Indian author and diplomat Vikas Swarup.
Set and filmed in India, Slumdog Millionaire tells the story of a young man from the slums of Mumbai who appears on the Indian version of “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire”? and exceeds people's expectations, arousing the suspicions of the game show host and of law enforcement officials.
Slumdog Millionaire was nominated for ten Academy Awards in 2009 and won eight, the most for any film of 2008, including Best Picture and Best Director. It also won five Critics' Choice Awards, four Golden Globes, and seven BAFTA Awards, including Best Film.
It is not a film about poverty. In its heart is the (slum) people’s massive spirit and massive determination to overcome terrible troubles. ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ is a fairytale. The title of the film is only a “metaphor”.”
The Theme “Slumdog Millionaire” is a constant challenge because its infinite variety invites infinitude of interpretations.

I have tried to balance the painting, although it may seem uncomfortable at times, permeates my works; soft colors and symmetrical compositions are opposed by harsh manipulation of colours su. In a large scale sense, these pieces are metaphors of the relationship between haves and have-nots. They reflect the balance/out of balance dilemma of contemporary survival. Balancing the discordant themes of chaos against order creates a kind of visual melody. I have obtusely shown 8 oscar winners flying to grab the ever enchanting and ‘magical’ Oscar in the Land of opportunities!
