I was made aware that one of my most valued human needs is “uncertainty” and the only constant in my life is the need for change. Painting abstracts using an element of chance combined with total abstraction allows me to immerse myself in these creations and feel as though I am stepping into the unknown bringing a sense of fulfillment that feeds my constant yearning for change without ever deserting my own surroundings.
A Miami-based Casablanca native, my inspiration comes from the extensive world travel I’ve had to privilege to experience at an early age. Creating bold color abstracts using, both organic and inorganic materials, merging together everything from acrylic paints to sawdust, to used up ground coffee, water, and iron powder. Once satisfied, I wait for the painting to set and admit that I don’t quite know how the finished work will turn out, resulting in an element of chance and unpredictability. Loosing that kind of direct control is both nerve racking and liberating at the same time!
