Oil painting on canvas canvas 46x61x2.1 cm representing the castle of Saige in Cadaujac revised at the origin of its first construction with its park partly imagined according to my desire of the moment to restore all its beauty of yesteryear , because today, it is left in its own juice for lack of means. CHATEAU DE SAIGE in CADAUJAC listed as a historical monument in 1983 A little history FRANCOIS-ARMAND DE SAIGE, former advocate general in the parliament of BORDEAUX, elected mayor of the city in 1791 and guillotined in 1793, had this castle built on a site gravelly dominating the palus of the Garonne. The 14 hectare estate is located in a prestigious park. Of rectangular plan of origin, the construction was extended by a building with a terrace on its left side in the shape of a hemicycle (not shown on this canvas). Triangular pediments crown each dormer, except the central one, which has an arched pediment and thus marks the symmetry of the upper composition. On the ground floor, the entrance is completely off-center to the west (right side of the painting). A porch with four Tuscan columns is added on the north facade as well as a covering terrace continuing these columns on the first floor bordered by balusters.

Jean-Yves Saint Lezer, a contemporary French artist, embarked on his artistic journey from a tender age, initially expressing his creativity through pencil drawings. The spark ignited during his school days, where he vividly recalls sketching a sailboat (a corvette) that adorned the cover of his notebooks. His artistic endeavors expanded as he repeatedly drew and diversified into landscapes, still lifes, and various subjects.

Life took its course, and Jean-Yves Saint Lezer pursued a career until retirement, putting his artistic passion on hold. With the luxury of time in retirement, he rekindled his love for painting, primarily focusing on landscapes and still lifes. His creations are characterized by a unique and pure artistic vision, reflecting his personal interpretations.

In his artistic practice, Jean-Yves draws inspiration from renowned painters like Bill Alexander and Bob Ross, both known for their mastery of the wet-on-wet technique. While adhering to this technique, Jean-Yves goes beyond, combining multiple artistic approaches to diversify his style. His paintings stand as a testament to the harmonious fusion of influences, resulting in a body of work that is uniquely his own.

As Jean-Yves Saint Lezer continues to explore and experiment with various techniques, his art resonates with a genuine passion for creation. Retired but invigorated by the opportunity to pursue his artistic calling, he brings a fresh perspective to the canvas, creating pieces that reflect not only his skill but also the joy derived from the process of artistic expression.
