Nicolas Rouard, alias Zolas, est né en Belgique en 1973 et a commencé la sculpture en 1990.
Ce jeune artiste est un autodidacte, il créé sans base, sans modèle de référence. Chacune de ses œuvres est le fruit de son esprit créatif inspiré par ses émotions à l'état brut. La craie frissonne presque tant la très forte sensibilité de Zolas passe à travers elle.
Pureté des lignes, générosité des formes, le noir et le blanc donnent le ton...
Enfant de Houyet et très attaché à ses racines, Zolas, a eu l'idée d'assembler des galets de la Lesse qui l'a vu naître.Une autre approche artistique non moins intéressante et étonnante.
Zolas a participé à plusieurs expositions d'artistes locaux et est très vivement encouragé par ses amis artistes et autres. Pour lui, la sculpture lui offre l'évasion et invite le spectateur au voyage dans l'émotion.
