It's impossible to get accurate colours when photographing paintings with rich colours such as these, I've managed to get it as close as possible but it's not exact I'm afraid.
Depending on the light source, the aspect differs, as you can see from the photos. This is due to the gold leaf on which I painted.
Natural mineral pigments of different semi-precious stones were used for the colours and painted on gold leaf, kozo washi paper, on a wooden frame.
The technique used is called 'Nihon-ga', traditional Japanese painting.
Painted in my studio in Boulogne-Billancourt, France.

Priscilla is a freelance artist and illustrator who graduated from Norwich University of the Arts with a BA (hons) degree in Illustration, she completed her studies at Osaka Seikei University in Nagaokakyo in Kyoto prefecture. As she broadened her knowledge and skills in Nihon-ga (Traditional Japanese Painting) during a period of 18 months, her love for Japan knew no bounds and continued to grow. Nihon-ga was a major breakthrough to Priscilla, it transformed her way of painting and she has since enjoyed experimenting with this technique and incorporating it in her creations.
