BIOGRAPHY
After classical and modern then artistic studies at the Frochot Academy in Paris 9th, former studio of Henri de Toulouse Lautrec and from 1977, as an illustrator and artistic director, graphic designer, for shipyards, naval architects, nautical and maritime companies (Beneteau, Stardust, Cunard, America's Cup, etc...) Philippe Conrad acquired extensive experience in these fields, and then became a marine painter.
Sailing aboard the Belle Poule of the French Navy, he was named "Gabier d'Honneur".
Numerous exhibitions have been organized since 2002 until now, at the TV in France, at the Nioulargue in St Tropez, in Cannes about Guy de Maupassant's boats, in Rouen for the “Worldship Society”, at the “Hotel de Paris” in Monaco during the “Classic Weeks”, in San Diego and Paris during the 1995 America's Cup, aboard the liberty-ship Jeremiah O'Brien during the 50th anniversary of the Normandy Landings (where he was named after, official painter of the Jeremiah O' Brien), also in Le Havre more recently, for “le Havre port of yachts and yachts of Napoleon III” in partnership with Louis Dreyfus Lines.
Also present in various museums, such as the Musée de la Batellerie in Conflans, the Koç Museum in Istanbul, etc...
His paintings adorn Ralph Lauren stores in the USA, France, London, Hong Kong, etc.
He has participated in many numerous auctions around the world.
For the past 2 years, Philippe Conrad has also been writing articles for the magazine “Mer & Boats”.
