About

At 80 years old, Penelope does not know old age. Her paintings bathed in the Provençal sun intrinsically carry the FORCE of eternal childhood on the world, on her world OF YOUTH more precisely. The crossing of a life without winter, all in bloom.

Her paintings like a diary where the daily life and its events are recorded, IN A SIMPLICITY ERECTED IN RICHNESS, ETERNALLY BORDERING ON THE PURITY OF A VERY EARTHLY EDEN. We look at the album OF HER life and we hear her call the characters by their first name, restore the eternal replica hidden in the canvas.

Naive art, illustrations, comic strip whose speech bubbles only speak with a southern accent, the references do not count. This is the story that is called for in Penelope’s work.

Biography

Born in Marseille, after living thirty years near Sainte-Maxime, in Mayotte and in northern Italy, she now lives and works in the south of France alongside Gilbert Tocco. Even the doors and cupboards of her house are covered in flowers. Impatient, she often chooses acrylic as an accomplice. Turpentine-free oil allows for a faithful rendering of the sweet moments of life depicted by Penelope. Humble, happy, loving and personal, Penelope’s painting now represents a background of around 400 canvases.
