Kurt Lackner

I went to art school in Chicago for a few years but decided I wasn’t learning anything after awhile and I occasionally went back to use their equipment. I always hear artists talk about self taught or art school and I don’t think the focus should be on that, here’s an example,the teacher of my painting 101 class my first year at SAIC would wait until everyone was there at 9 am and then tell us to paint whatever we wanted until 3 pm then every two weeks we’d have a class critique. Counterpoint is I’m sure everyone at some time in their lives has taken an art class, there really is no self taught artists unless they grew up in the woods and came down from the hills and somehow where able to buy art supply’s.
Aside from this little tidbit I don’t think artists should make their own bios , I know I’ve always felt uncomfortable when asked to do so. I can rattle off some galleries I’ve shown at in the past but to me that was the past. More soon. KL San Francisco feb 2018
