Eli Pimentel
BIOGRAPHY: ELI PIMENTEL
Since her infancy Eli lived submerged in an imaginary world. She studied Art in the studios of Boston College, and then in Florence, Italy where she was nourished by Florentine art and developed as an oil painter. Upon graduating in the year 2001, she was awarded the College’s paramount prize for artistic excellence, recognizing her as the finest artist of that institution.
Since then this Venezuelan painter has worked arduously to give vision to her artistic voice. Focusing on themes like the female figure and still lifes, Eli has evolved in a contemporary manner to bring us her latest paintings of nature, grasping the beauty, purity, and coolness that enclose this subject matter.
Eli employs a style of pointillism all her own that at a distance resembles realism. Always with the use of oils and through light, she lays her strokes on the canvas with special emphasis on the vivacity of color that is fundamental to her work. Fondness for her country’s landscapes moves her to the creation of works with much ability and elegance.
During her career, Eli has participated at national and international levels in nineteen collective exhibitions and has presented six solo shows. She maintains a web page, images in Facebook, and a workshop in constant production. She has been interviewed by magazines, newspapers and television stations in Colombia, the United States and Venezuela, including Orbivisión TV in Maracay and Globovisión TV in Caracas.

ARTIST STATEMENT
I found my voice in the endless plains of Venezuela.
After a Fine Arts degree from Boston College, painting in Florence, several exhibitions worldwide and over 16 years of searching through jungles, flowers, and foreign landscapes, the magic of the landscapes within my own country brought my journey to its end. Employing an abundance of color and pointillism, my brush strokes finally match my inner voice and my dream of bringing the public up close to a kind of nature that is both precious and vulnerable.
With this opportune encounter I begin opening my heart to continue praising the great treasures of my home.
