Nora Siegel Shepley is one of five children. She was born in Brooklyn, New York on May 26, 1945.
Nora lived most of her life in the United States. Nora started painting at the age of eight with water colors that impressed her parents to the point of sending her to art classes. At the age of 24, Nora moved to Northern New York State to give her the environment to paint the beauty of nature.
In 1972, Nora moved to Hollywood, Florida. In Florida Nora fell in love with the art deco style. She often travelled to Key West, which was known as an art colony in those days.
Nora started painting in oil but later changed to acrylic. She loved the bright colors and the quick drying time.
In November, 2009, Nora Immigrated to Israel where she currently resides and devotes much of her time to her art. Although Nora loved painting nature, she now has a preference for modern and art deco. Nora loves to paint beautiful women's profiles but still paints the occasional picture of animals in nature and caricatures from movies.
