BRUMES (2005) Painting by Natal

Self-taught painter since 1985, in 2004 I decided to perfect my knowledge through professional training as a painter and illustrator.

Painting imposed itself on me as a necessity, a totally indispensable balance, because it is inseparable from my being.

My work undoubtedly reflects the expression of my emotions, each of my paintings is in a way, a projection of my being in its entirety, conscious and unconscious, "a pictorial testimony" ranging from abstract to fantastic painting, from surrealism to romanticism, the creation of which imposes itself on me.

My approach in painting is quite complicated because it is both random and controlled. I create this felt pictorial force hoping that also the observers of my works are the troubled spectators who enter into communion with the energy and the feeling released by my painting.

With a spontaneous gesture I affix imprints on the canvas with various materials, sometimes even various objects at hand. My sources of inspiration are those that impose themselves on my will through my joys and my sorrows, my anxieties, but also through love, dreams, the strength of the soul and death.

For the first phase of a painting I use acrylic which, by its speed of drying, allows me to listen only to my instinct, then comes the phase of reflection executed in oil, it is for me the most exciting the one that "extirpates" the one that reveals me.

That's why I paint, because my life is sweeter with this special feeling that oil gives me on my canvas, this adequacy with my deepest being, this communion with the universe.
