I received a diploma in Arts and Design in1985 andI graduated with an honours degree in Fine Art, Sculpture in 1986 from Wolverhampton University. I have exhibited my work(Sculpture and drawings) in Ireland and the U.K. My sculptures are in private collections in Britain, Europe and Ireland.
In 1998 I developed Myalgic Encephalomyopathy in a severe form and started making art using the computer. I have received 'Arts and Disability Ireland'(Arts Council Funded) twice in 2000 and 2003
I have exhibited my work widely throughout Ireland, have completed illustration work,have had my work published as part of the European Year for People with Disabilities, and also in the government publication (an Taoseach's Department) 'Links'.
I am currently exhibiting work in Wexford and preparing for a major exhibition in Dublin at the Bank of Ireland Arts Centre next April.

I am very aware of my environment at home and visually I like to use the landscape as a metaphor for change, in reality nothing stays still, there is always constant ebb and flux, the altered states of the seasons, endings and new beginnings.

All of my work is a direct result of my interaction with the landscape. The history of areas, the fragility of the natural world, and a sense of belonging are very important as well, and I try to incorporate them into my paintings.
I try to blend the elements of the fantastic, mythology and dreams in my work, describing the ephemeral, side by side with what is real.

Using a computer to make art is an incredibly exciting way of working. I
can integrate my drawings, as well as photographic images, textures,
found objects etc., by scanning them into the computer. I use software
that enables me to ‘paint’ directly into my work whilst it is on screen, using
different layers of work, and I can work into these very directly, adjusting
their characteristics with colour and texture. There are absolutely no limits
to the imagination.
