"if we didn't laugh then we would cry", this is how i approach both my life and my artwork. Through a process of naturalistic observation it is clearly evident that peoples actions are not always reflective of their true emotions.
Emotions such as, 'Deceit', 'Bitterness', 'Jelousy' and even 'Hatred' can be easily masked by a deceptive, 'friendly face'. It is this conceived notion that inspires my artistic creations. The bright colours I use in my work represent the 'pretences' of my surrounding world and environment, and when you look more closely at my work, the actions of the monsters unveil the truth about society.
Essentially, the 'friendly-face' of my paintings is found in the use of 'playful' brush strokes, and the humourous element that is often portrayed in my work. However, the underlying concept of my work also seeks to 'mock' peoples lives, through the use of crammed, and corruptive compositions, which represent the lies we try to hide throughout life.
