The artist Maurizio Galasso was born in Avellino on 11/15/1963, where he lives and works. From an early age, irresistibly attracted by the imaginative world of colors, he was taken by a passion for drawing and painting.

As an adult, he moved to Coccaglio, in the Brescia area, where he collaborated with other painters in the creation of events and exhibitions. In the same period he exercises as a teacher in a painting school.

At the end of the 90s he gives life to his own pictorial technique, not digitally intended and in any case called Pixel Art, where the study of the combination plays a fundamental role of colors enclosed in the form of squares, one submultiple of the other and whose lowest form is represented by colored pixels.

The observer is invited to analyze in detail the multiple pixels which together give life to the poetic expression that the artist wanted to depict and which is not immediately visible.

When observed closely, the work appears in fact as an abstract-geometric painting, devoid of perspective. Only moving away does it come to life in its entirety, suddenly appearing clear to thus convey its final message.

In every painting there is the constant of a hidden reality that must be sought, discovered, analyzed and finally almost unexpectedly found.

The search for the image by the observer is comparable to the search of the artist who digs into his depths to look for a hidden truth that eventually materializes in the painting.

It is a tiring search, an alternation of pixels that gradually fill the white canvas. Each pixel represents a small step of the conscience towards the truth sought and will have its meaning only at the end of the work, technical and spiritual together, only in the totality of the work.

During his artistic career Galasso participates in various exhibitions and various competitions where he distinguishes himself by achieving praise and prizes.

Among the many: Awarded in the national competition "Chiari in cornice" year 1995. 1st place out of 700 works National competition "Coccaglio as via Bagutta" year 1998. 1st International Prize, painting section, Sublimitas 2003. Awarded at the 2nd National Painting Competition "Città di San Nicola Manfredi" year 2004 and others. Authoritative art magazines have written about him such as: Stile Arte, with the publication of his innovative technique, year 2002, no. 56.

Arte, by Giorgio Mondadori, year 2009, no. 426, and other sector magazines. Participates with the following art galleries with solo and group exhibitions: Galleria l'Approdo, Galleria la Roggia, Galleria Artecontesa - Rome via Margutta-, Life Art Gallery, AXRT contemporary Gallery, permanent works at the MACO Museum in Veroli, as well as personal at institutions and public bodies.
