Marino de Laura was born in Torviscosa in the province of Udine (FRIULI) where he still lives and paints. He has been working as a martial arts teacher for years. For many years he has enjoyed painting on cardboard, iron, wood, canvas and other materials with acrylic colours, oil, tempera, tar enamels, etc. etc. He also enjoys creating art with the help of computers. For him experimentation is a constant, he does not love the figurative, but the abstract or other forms of painting. The aim is to create paintings that give emotions, sensations of joy and happiness first to himself and then, if he succeeds, also to other people.
Possibly I don't want to be a prisoner of form or perspective and I I declare a free spirit. When I start to dirty the canvas I know where I start but I don't know where I end, but surely the painting will have to represent what I am, a happy dirty person.
Do what you can do, not what you can't do. Chasing what you can't do won't bring you any advantage. This phrase will remain engraved in my memory forever. Quote from a great artist who lives who knows where.
My art is instinct, the fruit of non-thought. My arm and hand slide over the colors, spreading them on the canvas in a totally random way. I almost always don't think about what colors to put on the canvas. I take some colors and then I act by spreading them impulsively on everything I can find under my hands. I use primary colors and only in some cases do I mix them. I often use spatulas and trowels, I also like to try my hand at dripping. I don't disdain creating collages which I then process on the computer creating a n. limited number of screenprints and prints.
