Once Upon A Time
A long drive out onto the eastern plains of Colorado and I finally arrived at a place I've been wanting to see for some time. I love old and abandoned historical sites and this one is really impressive. Aroya, Colorado originated in 1870 three miles west of the present site as a camp for Kansas-Pacific Railroad track-layers. Though most of the town is gone and the rest is a ghost town, the old school still stands proudly on a hill. Grades 1-8 were educated here.
