The King of God
I am always fascinated by archeological found bodywork of artifact. Their deterioration over the years. Their anecdotes inspire me. It takes me to that era, it keeps revisiting again and again to muse me.
Indra is an ancient Vedic deity, a deity in Hinduism, a guardian deity in Buddhism In the Vedas, Indra is the king of Svarga (Heaven). He is the deity of the heavens, lightning, thunder, storms, rains, river flows, and war. Indra is the most referred to deity in the Rigveda. My name is Mahesh Anjarlekar and I'm an art enthusiast and a maverick all rolled into one. Academically speaking, I'm an applied art graduate from one of the leading institutes in Mumbai. I made a humble beginning in a small village in the Konkan and then moved to Mumbai for further studies. Currently, I live in the central suburb of Thane city in Mumbai. Professionally, I'm a qualified visual artist with vast and varied experience in conceptual art, space design, art installations, community art and public art. I have special expertise in working with all types of materials like Terracotta, Clay, FRP, Metal, Paper Mache, Cement, etc. Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of working and collaborating on various government and private projects and installations across the spectrum. Besides this, I also run my advertising agency and also hold exhibitions across India for my paintings and sculptures. Art is not just a career option for me but is also my passion and given the opportunity, I'm always looking to do something new and exciting with this medium.
