My works speak of me, of my passion for painting, of my love for life and for freedom.
When I start a canvas I am transported, I no longer think, I have neither rules nor constraints what I do I do it for myself to channel an energy, from a moment of a stage of my life, to above all never forget again ...

My name is Maha Khatib and I was born in Casablanca, Morocco. I grew up in Montreal, Canada where I lived until 2010. Currently, I am in Timișoara, Romania, with my extraordinary husband and my wonderful children who support me and encourage me in my passion.< br />I have traveled to many places and each unique country has given me a new perspective on life. I use each new place as a lesson in life by absorbing the cultural and artistic richness of the place.
I have always had a passion for art and I started painting when I was 2 years old. Painting came naturally to me and I was lucky enough to see the world through a unique pair of eyes. I particularly like capturing the strong and powerful beauty of women, their struggles, their strengths... there are so many emotions in a simple smile I am dazzled by life, by its difficulties and its miracles. I am always surprised to see that there is beauty at all levels of creation.
It is very difficult for me to part with my works, but it makes me so happy when a person feels all his emotions that I felt too, another proof for me that we are not so different.
I try through my paintings to capture the raw intensity of human emotion and transport souls. I also like challenges, doing personalized orders, for example I had a request from a girl who wanted to immortalize her forbidden love story or another girl who asked me to paint her portrait because of this. She has difficulty loving herself and her body, or simply wants to bring back to life a dear person who is no longer in this world.
