An environmental and human issue. Mag Michel is actually working on Fragmentation sculpture in South India. Like in the past years, steel is his medium as for the Indian vehicles icons such as the Auto rickshaw and the car "Ambassador'', but today he cuts part of the famous legendary sixties transatlantic liner France, actually on the beach yard of Alang Gujarat India where she is completely and wildely destroyed. Several (7) pieces of metal Fragmentations are in his hands to show that dust is dust, ashes is ashes but also to give a message concerning the lack of consensciouness about the risk of toxicity in discarding such a polluted boat. It is not only an environmental issue concerning this particular ship but also a human issue for hundreds of daily workers on duty without safety and physical health protection. In march the cutting (gas blowtorch)has touched the forward portion of the first funnel and has now reached the original structure of the boat France before she was named Blue Lady in 2006(ex Norway) The seven scrap-pieces will be exhibited in a Art gallery and the profit of the sale will be given to an organization based in India committed in this action for several years to take care of risky workers involved in the IT E-waste connection. This exhibition should be an alert to show that art is not only an aesthetic idea or an upper class show off, but can be a useful tool to give a little help for the next generation....
