Paper sculptures
The splendor of nature, authentique and spontanious is the source of inspiration for me. Through my
memory, both emotional and imaginary I create these sculptures, poetic and delicate objects, a celebration of beauty.
The process of creations is the most precious moment, time stands still and I am at one with my creations. The instinctive manipulation of the sheet of paper, its delicacy, its resistance and the tactile sensations it provides, guide my creativity to metamorphose into a three-dimensional form.
These sculptures start from a single module that reproduces and evolves, to be transformed at an undefined moment of time into a finite object that defines itself. The manipulation of these modules, juxtaposed or superimposed, participate fully in the creation of the structure.
Through my creations, I express my emotions and my fascination for the rhythm, balance and harmony that nature reveals.

Anja Madsen Pernot, a Danish artist and designer who trained at the Danish Design School, Copenhagen Denmark and the University of Art and Design, Helsinki Finland, first worked for Christian Lacroix, Christian Dior, Louis Vuitton... Her work as a plastic artist is a direct result of emotional experiences that come from an intense and poetic relationship she has always had with nature.

The silvery shimmer of the surface of the water, the flight of hundreds of thousands of starlings darkening the sky on the shores of the North Sea... fascinate her and produce almost hypnotic emotions that she expresses in her various works. The work thus "captures" a feeling, a wonder as if suspended, the perception of time intensifies, giving certain pieces a surprisingly vibratory dimension.

Anja Madsen Pernot's work is extremely delicate, made from fragile materials - paper has been her favourite material for several years - and requires an infinite amount of time, which the artist refers to as a meditation.

Her works, installations, wall pieces and sculptures, are based on the skills that she has learnt, reminiscent of the techniques and aesthetic objectives of the decorative arts.  Due to the richness and topicality of the artistic issues at stake they neverthetheless belong to the field of the plastic arts, which are clearly part of the field of contemporary art.

Anja Madsen Pernot's work has been exhibited (group and solo exhibitions), commissioned and collected in France (Cognac, Jonzac, Dieppe, Paris) and abroad (Denmark, Italy, Switzerland, Taiwan).
