1952 - Luís Soares nasceu a 22 de Agosto em Lourenço Marques (hoje Maputo), Moçambique. Descendente de colonos, desde muito jovem viveu a mistura branca, negra e asiática característica do Moçambique de então. Essas vivências culturais e estéticas marcaran profundamente a sua vida artística.

Hace sus primeras esculturas fundidas en bronce y aluminio.
1977 - En Lisboa, na GRAVURA – Sociedade Portuguesa de Gravadores Portugueses, tem os primeros contactos com as técnicas de gravura, litografia y serigrafia e com uma Bolsa da Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian para gravura em , GRAVURA, contou com la orientação técnica del artista João Hogan.
1981 - Se muda a Cascais y abre un taller, iniciando un trabajo de investigación con vistas a crear un tipo de cerámica que se identifique con la zona, generando sus nuevas raíces.
1982 / 2019 - Participa en feiras de arte como ARCO, Madrid; Art LA, Los Angeles; Art Miami; Art London; ArtExpo NY; LINEART Ghant; Art Düsseldorf; EUROPART Geneve; .... Hace exposiciones en Museos de Aveiro, Grão Vasco, Castelo Branco, Ciudad Real, Vila Real,... assim como em variadíssimas galerias de arte e centros culturais.
