Lucm's parents were neither painters nor art teachers. In the 1960s, when he was still very young, the artist began his career by drawing scribbles. Through hard work, his technique and his style evolve. He then produced works depicting tadpole figures and later houses, flowers, small birds, cowboys and Indians. He then put his career on hold for about forty years.

It was in the early 2000s that he found his way back to his studio where, surrounded by his bike, the washing machine and the lawn mower, he painted (except in winter when he preferred the warmer setting of the kitchen ).

Lucm refuses the qualification of amateur painter which seems to him too pretentious. Dilettante painter or RTT painter correspond more to the relationship he maintains with his art.
