A major figure in the pictorial art scene having asserted himself from the post-war period, Charles FLOUTARD, “Charly” for those close to him, painted his realism from the 1960s onwards as a perfect follower of this style of painting born in France. after the revolution of 1848. This tendency led to a fashion for the anecdotal and picturesque scene that the artist profusely declined in portraits and still lifes. In his art, he imposed neither an aesthetic theory nor a homogeneous style, but an objective and simple vision of contemporary life accessible to all. Carrying a humanitarian impulse, he received an always enthusiastic welcome from the public and professionals of the art world. When we study his production, we see that the painter gave an expressive value to the drawing through simplification and stylization. The subject is illuminated by a light source and the mixture of dark colors and light colors finds an elegant harmony. The bill, without constraint, reveals a tasty and often light dough. A work produced by Lucette FLOUTARD faithfully traces the career of this master who dedicated his existence to this noble art of which he was undoubtedly an authentic representative.
