About the author
I am Preeta, a textile designer by education, but a simple sensitive family oriented spiritual person at heart. To me, art is the most primitive means of communication that human civilization knows. It is the conscious expression, sometimes even subconscious expression of thoughts, feelings and ideas that every person is bestowed with, but few are able to translate.
I do not remember who introduced me to the world of visual art or what exactly attracted me to it, but in my very early stages of life in school like a divine embrace, art engulfed me into a sense of security I never doubted.
I used to paint a lot during my summer holidays after the end of each school term. I used to collect pictures of paintings that attracted me without knowing what attracted me to them and tried to replicate them, some times with slight deliberate changes. The paintings were poster paints on paper and I learnt it on my own. Each stroke of brush brought me closer to a divine power and I would be hooked to long continuous hours of painting.
Today, being a B.Sc Home Science graduate with a Post Graduate diploma of Textile Design and Development from National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), I understand art much better and produce art that is original and true to my self, inspired by my perspective of life around me..
It was during my student days at NIFT that I learnt graphic art which has taken me to a different horizon. I make art on the computer more passionately than before.
