J. Lopez est né en 1968, nationalité portugais. Il a étudié ingénierie civile et son expérience professionnelle lui a conduit à son
domaine de techniques de créations de céramique.
Il commence son activité professionnelle en 1989 avec Eduardo Viana, en participant au Laboratoire du E.C. Viana et, comme
ça, il commence sa passion pour l’utilisation de la céramique comme langage vital.
Céramiste autodidacte et expérimentateur, il a son inspiration dans tous ce qu’il voit et dans tous que lui donne des réponds
expressives que lui satisfait.
Pendant beaucoup d’années, il parle de ses expériences avec beaucoup d’autres céramistes et peintres comme Rui de Melo,
Branco Cardoso, Edmundo Cruz et, au même temps, il développe des nouveaux couleurs dans le laboratoire pour les
Céramiques Viúva Lamego e Constância.
Il a participé en beaucoup de workshops sur céramique, roue de potier, peinture de carreau.
De cette façon, il a matérialisé un langage représentatif qu’on appelle « Carreaux avec dynamisme ». Il a fait des panneaux des
carreaux avec des différentes techniques, telles comme, émailler du verre, couleurs de fond, argile et crayon.
