Patricia Matencio connue sous son nom d’artiste YPATOUM est née à Paris le 21 Février 1961. Après avoir vécu d’abord un peu partout en France, puis 11 ans aux Pays-Bas, puis 8 ans en Tunisie pendant tous les bouleversements qu’à subit le Pays et ses pays voisins. Aujourd’hui installée en Charente-Maritime.D’abord intéressée par le graphisme et la calligraphie qu’elle apprend aux Beaux-arts. C’est bien plus tard, qu’elle se prend de passion pour les couleurs à travers le textile et différends matériaux, textures. Ses œuvres sont sa vie. Elle projette dans les matières et supports les plus divers, textile, mannequin/concept, pierre, peinture, ses émotions ressenties des injustices dans les différents contextes de sa vie avec toujours son regard sur le reste du monde et ses moments forts de son existence. Toutes ces injustices qu’elle rejette en les traduisant par des couleurs d’autant plus vives qu’elles l’atteignent, pour apporter l’optimisme et surtout l’espoir d’une justice humaine. Elle passe par beaucoup de techniques car elle veut être entièrement libre de pouvoir créer où qu’elle soit et suivant les moyens qu’elle a sous ses mains. -
