By exploring the concept of landscape in a nostalgic way, she examines the dynamics of landscape, including manipulating its effects and the boundaries of the spectacle, based on our assumptions about what landscape means to us. Instead of depicting an actual reality, an illusion is invented to conjure up the realms of our imagination.
Her work is often about contact with nature, people and their living space. Energy (heat, light, water), space and landscape are examined in a less obvious way and sometimes alienated in an aesthetic way. Katharina Valeeva currently lives and works in Karlsruhe.
