About the author
Gawel Kowalski is a contemporary Italian artist, born in Poland and raised in Rome. From a young age, the world of art, particularly oil painting, captured his interest. Although he initially attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, his desire for freedom and the pursuit of unrestrained experimentation led him away from conventional academic paths. As a result, official records of his education do not reflect the breadth of his artistic exploration.
Following various occupations, Gawel embarked on a "career" as a photographer, which spanned approximately 12 years. He now officially considers this phase concluded. Photography served as a swift means of expressing his inner world, providing both a creative outlet and a means of livelihood. However, Gawel views this period as a stepping stone in his artistic journey, a way to explore and harvest the fruits of his creativity.
At present, Gawel Kowalski perceives himself as having matured artistically. His journey has been marked by extensive experimentation, yielding a diverse collection of artistic expressions. The results you see today are a culmination of his relatively short but undeniably interesting artistic path.
