About the author
Began to draw since I was 8 years old using pencils, and draw any subject in front of me, especially animals and airplanes. When I was 12 years old, started to draw using charcoal, soft pastels, and oil pastels. Also started to use oil paints, subjects were mainly landscapes, and heritage related subjects.
I am fully self-educated. In high school, most paintings were produced using oil paints. Subjects were mainly landscapes. Began to participate in local art exhibitions and earned prizes. In this stage as well, started to try to learn Arabic Calligraphy, and many art works were produced.
Later on, concentration on oil painting was emphasized by using different techniques. Larger, more complicated paintings were produced. Continued to participate in art exhibitions beyond my city.
I am inspired by the nature around me, and heritage. In my realistic paintings, I paint old mud houses, some of the details of these houses like doors and windows. I also paint desert scenes like sand dunes and oasis. In my abstract paintings, I utilize heritage aspects like Arabic letters, ornaments, and traces of time on mud walls. I am influenced by earth and bright colors around me.
